A grant pipeline is not just a spreadsheet full of deadlines.
It’s a strategic decision-making tool.
But too many pipelines only tell you:
The funder’s name
The application deadline
The grant amount
That’s not enough.
Related: Your grant pipeline is a system, not a spreadsheet

Our agency uses Monday.com to create and manage custom grant pipelines and document libraries for each of our clients.
A useful pipeline should also show:
Current stage
Internal owner
Next action
Relationship status
Program fit
Estimated effort
Past awards
Reporting requirements
Otherwise, your team is constantly asking:
“What happens next?” “Where are we with that grant?”
And that question creates delays.
A strong pipeline system has room to grow and evolve.
Action steps:
✅ Add a clear next step to every opportunity
✅ Use a pipeline platform that makes sense for you
✅ Review the pipeline weekly
✅ Remove opportunities that no longer make sense
A pipeline should reduce confusion.
Not create another place to store it.
Until next time,
