I have written four grants this week so far, and two of them specifically requested links to media coverage.
I have historically included links to press coverage where allowed, but recently I have seen specific call-outs for press for the first time.
What can you do if your organization doesn’t have any press?
Sponsored Content
Here are some ways you can encourage your organization to grab some press attention so that you have the links you need for grants:
- Write and Distribute Press Releases- Share stories, achievements, and events.
- Pitch Newsworthy Stories- Focus on stories with a strong human interest element that will tug on heartstrings.
- Use HARO- Platforms like HARO are great for connecting with journalists looking for specific stories.
With a bit of persistence, using these techniques should allow your organization to get a few press links. Funders like the validation and substantiation that press provides. It builds confidence and will help you win more grants.
Until next time,
