#113 Check out this cool grant tool

When a nonprofit hires me to grow their grant budget from $0 to $1M, one of the first places I look for grant funding is through their local community foundations.

Community foundations typically have grants specifically for smaller orgs and new projects. If your program addresses a clear community need, community foundations will likely support you.

If you serve a small community, chances are you already know about your local community foundation.

But, if you serve multiple communities or live in a metro area, you may not know how to find the community foundations in your area.

I recently came across this fancy little tool offered by the Council on Foundations. Enter in the city and state where you provide services and it immediately provides information about the community foundations that serve that area.

It provides the name, address, executive director’s name, and a link to the website. Fantastic!

Until next time,
