Every organization wants grant funding.
Very few organizations honestly assess their grant readiness.
Ask yourself these questions:
- Do we have enough staff time for grants (research, writing, reporting)?
- Do we have a clear process for researching and vetting which grants to pursue?
- Can we demonstrate measurable outcomes?
- Would our grant work continue if one key person left?
- Can we take on more funding without overloading the team?
- Do we have at least one year of clear and convincing financial records?
If the answer is “no” to more than a couple of these…
It’s not a small gap.
It’s a capacity issue.

And that’s where many organizations are right now.
Action steps:
✅ Identify your weakest area
✅ Strengthen systems before scaling efforts
✅ Align your grant goals with your actual infrastructure
Because growth without capacity isn’t sustainable.
And funders can tell the difference.
