Most grant funders are proud of their grant recipients and share them with the world. Many grant agreements include media kits for grantees to publish press releases and social media posts.
However, the grant funders also post their own social media content and press releases, which provides a great opportunity to continue growing the relationship.

When I contract with a new client, I request that their social media manager create grant-related posts.
For example, when we win a new grant, I check the grantee’s website and social media for the announcement. Once I see it published, I notify the social media manager and ask them to repost it on the organization’s social media channels.
Once they repost, the grantee receives a notification, which helps build the relationship.
Small gestures, like following and reposting from grant funders’ social media accounts, keep the organization front and center. When it is time to ask for their grant support, they will remember that your organization has supported them throughout the year.
Until next time,
