As someone who lived in Florida for 30+ years and experienced several hurricanes, including Cat 4 and Cat 5 storms, the rebuilding part feels daunting and out of reach.
As I sit safely in my home office, I feel helpless.
One of my clients is located in Southwest Florida, and they will need help rebuilding. In preparation, I compiled a list of disaster relief grants so I can quickly apply and hopefully get some emergency relief funding.
I want to share the list with you to use if you were affected by Hurricane Helene or Hurricane Milton. Reach out to your local United Way and community foundations first and then expand from there. FEMA offers assistance to nonprofits, so make sure you or your Executive Director applies for assistance.
If not, save the list for the future. Most of these grants are for any disaster, not just hurricanes.
I used GrantStation to generate this list of grants. It took a total of 10 minutes to create the list and vet the grant opportunities. If you don’t already subscribe to GrantStation, I highly recommend it. It is well worth the $95/year cost.
